112 World Leaders Unite in Public Support of Burma

The group of former world leaders has addressed an open letter to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, urging him to visit Burma by the end of 2008, in order to press for the release of all Burmese prisoners of conscience. Signees include: US Presidents George HW Bush and Jimmy Carter, British PMs Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher, and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, among others.
