UKRAINE: OFFER OF HELICOPTERS?

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has reported that he and Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko have discussed Ukraine's donation of 19 helicopters to UNAMID forces in Darfur.

Questions about the potential development remain, given Khartoum's resistance to the deployment of non-African peacekeepers, as well as the current tumultuous political climate in Ukraine.
